Enertis Applus+ adds new UK BESS project for ContourGlobal and NEP, surpassing 17 GWh BESS track record

- Enertis Applus+ has supported over 27 GW of solar PV and 17 GWh of BESS projects in the United Kingdom with consultancy, engineering and quality control services.
- Recent UK projects include engineering design and procurement support for the Braston/Wallace BESS project in Scotland, one of the largest battery energy storage projects under development in the country.
London, July 30th, 2026.- Enertis Applus+, a global engineering consultancy firm with extensive expertise in the renewable energy and storage sectors, continues to expand its UK portfolio, building on a track record spanning more than 27 GW of solar PV and 17 GWh of battery energy storage (BESS) projects supported through consultancy, engineering and quality control services.
The company’s recent UK portfolio highlights its growing role in supporting large-scale renewable and energy storage projects across key development, construction, commissioning and procurement stages.
In the BESS sector, Enertis Applus+ has supported the UK developer New Energy Partnership (NEP) and ContourGlobal in advancing the Braston/ Wallace BESS project in Ayr, Scotland, planned at 500 MW / 2 GW-hour (GWh), one of the largest battery energy storage developments currently under way in the country.
For NEP, who originally developed the project, the company has provided engineering design services to support the discharge of planning conditions, including site design documentation, drainage strategy reviews, access and infrastructure design, and technical support to advance the project toward construction readiness.
For ContourGlobal, in preparation for project ownership, pending completion of a recently signed purchase agreement, Enertis Applus+ is providing support in the procurement phase with basic engineering, tender package preparation, bid management, technical evaluation, procurement support, and CAPEX modelling, helping facilitate supplier selection and project execution planning.
“We are proud to play an active role in advancing the UK Government’s clean power ambitions by supporting clients such as NEP and ContourGlobal in delivering robust, high-quality renewable and energy storage projects,” said David Shields, UK Country Lead at Enertis Applus+. “Our global experience and growing UK presence underline the importance of independent technical advisory, engineering and quality assurance expertise in helping developers, investors and asset owners de-risk investments, improve project performance and deliver the energy infrastructure needed for the transition to a net-zero future.”
